Robert van Bennekom has a diverse range of work experience spanning over three decades. Robert is currently serving as the Global IT Director at Movella, where they are responsible for all aspects of Information Technology and Security. Prior to this, Robert worked at TomTom as the Vice President of IT, overseeing the employee IT department and focusing on digital workplace, security, collaboration solutions, and IT support. Robert also has extensive experience at Belden, where they held multiple roles including Director of IT and Global Lead Technology & Infrastructure. At Belden, Robert was responsible for various teams and projects related to digital transformation, global strategy development, cyber security, and data privacy. Additionally, they were one of the co-founders of Avensus, where they played a key role in the management buy-out and contributed to the success of the organization as a consultant, project manager, and business unit manager. Robert began their career as a System Engineer at B-Catel and Aecis/Computerij, gaining experience in technology and project management.
Robert van Bennekom has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Nyenrode Business University, which they completed between 2011 and 2017. In terms of technical education, they attended MTS Ede in 1988-1989 to study Computer Technology and MTS Harderwijk from 1984 to 1988 to study Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Robert also obtained a DevOps Fundamentals certification from DASA in 2019 and completed a course in DevOps: Transforming and Improving Operations through LinuxFoundationX in 2017. Furthermore, they earned a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management from MITx Courses in 2017. In terms of additional certifications, they are currently preparing for the Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) exam through LinkedIn.
