George Polack, P.Eng has over 14 years of professional experience in the engineering field. From 2006 to 2007, they worked as a Mobile Hardware Qualification Engineer at AMD, a Display Developer at BlackBerry, and an Embedded Systems Engineer at Analog Devices. In 2007, they joined the Rotman Research Institute at Baycrest as a Software Architect Engineer, and then moved to Thales as a Software Analyst in 2009. From 2010 to 2014, they worked as a Research Developer at Sunnybrook Research Institute, where they published a paper in the Medical Physics journal. In 2014, they co-founded Loop Lab Inc., where they designed schematics, layouts, and DFM PCBs for Thread mesh network HVAC dampers and Wi-Fi hub/gateways. George was also responsible for the design of a Cloud-native multi-microservice architecture supporting OTA updates of devices, real-time feedback of device sensors, third-party thermostat control, storage and analysis of sensor data streams, and actuator control. Later that year, they joined Myplanet as a Software Developer, where they were responsible for front and backend software development of a web-based video conferencing and user-management platform utilizing Angular and PHP. In 2017, they joined Movellus Inc. as a Principal Engineer and Founding Team Member, Principal Software Architect, and Principal Engineer and Software Engineering Manager. In their roles at Movellus, they were responsible for providing technical direction to support organization-wide goals, leading the software and automation vision for the organization, establishing roadmaps for the Software Team, and driving process improvement.
George Polack, P.Eng obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Computer Engineering - Mechatronics Option from the University of Waterloo in 2009. In 2010, they were certified as a Professional Engineer (PE) by Professional Engineers Ontario.
