Roya Pakzad

Roya Pakzad is a technology and human rights researcher and the founder of Taraaz, an organization focused on the intersection of these fields. Currently a Senior Fellow in Trustworthy AI at Mozilla, Roya's ongoing project develops a platform for civil society to engage in AI evaluation, particularly regarding linguistic diversity. Previously, they worked as an ASIC Design Engineer at AMD and held roles at prestigious institutions including Stanford and Columbia University. Roya's research has garnered recognition from notable organizations such as the Rockefeller Foundation and has been featured in major media outlets including BBC and CNN. They hold advanced degrees in electrical engineering and human rights studies.
