Mahmoud Wahdan

Mahmoud Wahdan has a long history of work experience in the field of Applied NLP R&D, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Engineering. In 2021, they began working as a Staff Applied NLP R&D Scientist at Mozn, where they are technically leading a team of 3+ data scientists and working on Applied Arabic NLU R&D. In 2019, they worked as a Senior Data Scientist at Inetum, where they were a Subject Matter Expert of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence solutions. From 2017 to 2019, they worked at Etisalat as a Senior Data Scientist (AI, NLP, DL, ML), where they managed the whole life-cycle of Artificial Intelligent/Machine Learning projects. In 2017, they also worked at C&C Computer Solutions as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and developing high salable systems. In 2016, they worked at Orange as a Senior R&D Software Engineer, where they lead R&D projects for customers from various businesses. In 2015, they worked at Zalando SE as a Software Engineer Search / Recommender Systems, where they developed prototypes and benchmarks to choose the right technology for the Fashion Search Engine. From 2013 to 2016, they worked at Orange as a Senior R&D Software Engineer, where they worked in various enterprise level projects and led the efforts of the lab towards Machine Learning. From 2011 to 2013, they worked at Kngine as a Senior R&D Software Engineer and Team Lead, where they technically led the R&D Team and proved strong people management. Mahmoud also worked at RDI (The Engineering Company for Digital Systems Development) as an R&D Software Engineer and at Sakhr Software as an R&D Software Engineer.

Mahmoud Wahdan received their BSc in Computer Science from Ain Shams University between 2005 and 2009. Mahmoud then pursued a Pre-Master in Computer Science at Ain Shams University from 2010 to 2011. In addition, Mahmoud has obtained several certifications, including Custom Models, Layers, and Loss Functions with TensorFlow from Coursera Course Certificates in November 2020, Natural Language Processing with Classification and Vector Spaces from Coursera Course Certificates in September 2020, Deep Learning in Python from DataCamp in May 2018, Extreme Gradient Boosting with XGBoost Course from DataCamp in May 2018, Supervised Learning with scikit-learn Course from DataCamp in May 2018, Intro to Python for Data Science from DataCamp in April 2018, and Text Retrieval and Search Engines from Coursera Verified Certificates in April 2015.
