Carlos Santos

Carlos Santos is a warehouse/assembler at MPT. Carlos previously worked as a construction senior inspector at SI Engineering, P.C. from June 2020 to December 2020. In this role, they tracked submissions related to construction activities executed by the contractor, followed their progress, and provided construction quality assurance (QA) oversight including independent confirmatory inspection and prepared and submitted inspection reports. Some of the representative contractor activities to which QA was provided included chopped cracked and hollow-sounding/delaminated concrete at the piers hammerhead and portal's beams, sandblasting of the chopped surface using (Black Beauty Harsco) abrasive material, painting exposed rebars using Sika Armatec, 110 Epocem, mesh installation over existing exposure reinforcement, restoration of the chopped cover, housekeeping, and maintenance and protection of traffic, MPT. The project successfully ended in December 2020 and was a teamwork lead and managed by Resident Engineer Laura Gray, PE, and Engineer in Charge Ryan Kalleberg, PE.

Carlos Santos has an extensive educational background in civil engineering. Carlos has an Engineer's Degree in Hydraulics of Upland Areas from IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, and a second Engineer's Degree in Design of Dam and related works from Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (MSUCE). Carlos also has a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo. In addition, they have completed 68 credits of undergraduate work in Civil Engineering from Universidad Autonoma de Santo Domingo (UASD), and has a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a concentration on management from American Intercontinental University (AIU). Mr. Santos has also completed professional development hours (PDH) in civil engineering from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and continued education credits (CEU) in civil engineering from both the ASCE and the Puerto Rico College of Engineers (CIAPR).
