Archie Skeoch

Archie Skeoch has a diverse work experience, starting with their current role as a Golang Developer at MQube since February 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Yorkshire Wedding Barn from May 2018 to January 2022, where they held various roles. Archie was a Bar Manager, responsible for managing and maintaining smooth service of the bar during weddings and other events. Their role extended beyond typical bar management as they also liaised with and organized the bride and groom and other staff. Additionally, they worked as a Groundsman, maintaining a 50-acre area that included lakes and woodland. Archie was involved in the expansion of the company, overseeing the construction of additional on-site accommodation. Archie gained experience working on heavy machinery, commercial-scale water supply, and electrical infrastructure. Archie also worked as a Bartender during their time at Yorkshire Wedding Barn.

Archie also interned as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team from March 2021 to July 2021. In this role, they designed track diagrams for the steering wheel dashboard display to convey critical circuit information to the drivers. Archie ensured that the diagrams reflected FIA or circuit regulation changes.

Before that, they worked at Let Laos Learn in 2020. Archie was a Construction Engineer, responsible for designing and implementing an improved well and pumping system to provide fresh water to a local school. This improvement resulted in increased water pressure, flow rate, and consistency, allowing the school to remain open for longer and providing more children with access to education. Archie also worked briefly as an English Teacher at the same organization.

Archie's work experience includes an internship as a Quality Control Intern at XL Precision Technologies Ltd from May 2017 to September 2017. In this role, they developed work instructions to minimize operator error and product variance, contributing to the company's implementation of the ISO 9001 standard. Archie also collected scrap data using control chart techniques to identify sources of quality loss and prioritize process improvements.

Archie Skeoch began their education in 2013 at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, where they studied Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and English language for their A-levels. After completing their A-levels in 2015, they enrolled at the University of the West of England. From 2015 to 2018, they pursued a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the same university. Building on their undergraduate studies, Archie went on to pursue a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of the West of England from 2018 to 2019.
