Jayesh B. Shah

Jayesh B. Shah, MD, MHA has extensive experience in healthcare administration, operations, and wound care. Jayesh B. began their career in 1997 as a Medical Director at Uvalde Memorial Hospital's wound care and hyperbaric medicine center. In 1999, they became the Chief Executive Officer at South Texas Wound Associates, where they transformed the practice from a single physician to a team of doctors and nurse practitioners. Jayesh B. oversaw the company's P&L, regulatory compliance, and evidence-based care implementation. In 2010, Jayesh became the Medical Director at NE Baptist and Mission Trail Baptist Wound Healing Centers, where they led practice management, operations, and finance. Jayesh B. also upgraded electronic health records and developed wound assessment and utilization review guidelines. Jayesh has held various teaching positions, including Associate Professor at the University of the Incarnate Word and Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. From 2016 to 2020, they served as the President of the American College of Hyperbaric Medicine. Jayesh B. also worked as a Physician Advisor at Tenet Healthcare - San Antonio Market, providing leadership in utilization review, clinical documentation, coding process, and performance improvement. Jayesh has a strong background in wound care, as evidenced by their role as Medical Director of several wound care centers, including the Southwest Center for Wound Care at Southwest General Hospital. Throughout their career, Jayesh has demonstrated skills in healthcare administration, revenue generation, contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, and quality of care measurement.

Jayesh B. Shah, MD, MHA began their education at Baroda Medical College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. Jayesh B. then went on to pursue their MD in Internal Medicine at Columbia University, specializing in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Following this, they attended Trinity University, earning a Master of Science (Health Care Administration) degree.

In addition to their education, Dr. Jayesh B. Shah has obtained several certifications. Jayesh B. is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Jayesh B. is also a Certified Wound Specialist Physician, certified by the American Board of Wound Management. Furthermore, they have obtained certifications in Hyperbaric Medicine from the American Board of Hyperbaric Medicine and in Undersea and Hyperbaric Medicine from the American Board of Preventive Medicine. Dr. Shah is licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas, holding a Texas State Medical License issued by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners.
