Chivas Sandage is an accomplished author and digital columnist currently working on the forthcoming book THE WIND BLEW THROUGH US: Love, Murder, & Justice in Texas at the University of Texas Press. Sandage received a $1,500 artist grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s 2020 Artist Fellowship Program for this narrative nonfiction project. As a digital columnist for Ms. Magazine, Sandage writes the "Ms. Muse" column, focusing on contemporary feminist poetry and relevant essays. Sandage founded Vesta Inc. / Write Like a River, emphasizing the importance of amplifying the voices of women, girls, and LGBTQ individuals. Previous experience includes roles as a freelance writer, copywriter, and assistant professor at Westfield State University and Western New England University. Sandage holds an MFA in Writing from Vermont College of Fine Arts and a BA from Bennington College.
