Frank Pietryga P.e.

Frank Pietryga, P.E. is an experienced engineer with a robust background in power engineering and transmission protection. Currently serving as a Transmission Protection Engineer at FirstEnergy since January 2019, Frank specializes in setting up relays to safeguard transmission systems. Prior experience includes roles as a Consulting Engineer at Duquesne Light Company, where responsibilities involved protecting high-voltage transmission systems and contributing to microgrid technology development, and as a Principal Engineer at Bombardier Transportation, focusing on propulsion systems for transit vehicles. Frank has also acted as a Site Coordinator and Instructor for the Motorcycle Safety Foundation since 2007, providing training for motorcycle safety courses. An Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh from 2011 to 2015, Frank taught power engineering courses and was involved in academic development.
