Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy

Stephanie Athens DeSmit has a diverse background in coaching and playing lacrosse. Stephanie is currently the Head Girls Lacrosse Coach at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, where they aim to teach young women to love the game and become champions on and off the field. Previously, Stephanie worked as an Under Armour All-America Command Coach, empowering and developing female athletes. Stephanie also served as a coach and counselor at the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was an NCAA Division III Collegiate Athlete at Messiah College. Stephanie has experience coaching at Walton High School for Girl's Lacrosse and was an Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach at Christopher Newport University, where they mentored student-athletes, recruited prospects, and managed the team's social media platforms. Additionally, they played professionally in the United Women's Lacrosse League and UWLX, being one of the first Division III players to play for the Baltimore Ride. Stephanie has also worked as a sports coach and camp coach at the United States Naval Academy. Overall, their work experience highlights their passion for lacrosse, mentoring young athletes, and promoting a motivated team culture.

Stephanie Athens DeSmit completed their Bachelor's degree in Art in Communications at Messiah University from 2014 to 2017. Prior to that, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Communication, General at Pfeiffer University from 2013 to 2014. In addition to their academic qualifications, they have obtained certifications such as GHSA Community Coach from the Georgia High School Association in August 2018, and is also certified in First Aid.
