Axel Kurschat

Axel Kurschat has a wealth of experience in project management and infrastructure development. Axel currently serves as the Chief Project Controls Manager at MTR Corporation Limited in Hong Kong. Prior to that, they worked as a Director at KPMG China. Axel also held the position of Senior Manager (Infrastructure) at the Airport Authority Hong Kong. Axel gained extensive experience at Turner & Townsend, where they served as an Associate Director (Infrastructure) and a Project Controls Manager. Earlier in their career, they held various project management roles at Bechtel Corporation, including Project Business Manager, Lead Cost Engineer, and Area Lead Planner. Axel began their career as a Cost Engineering and Scheduling Specialist at Star 21 Networks.

Axel Kurschat completed their Master's Degree in Construction Project Management from Heriot-Watt University from 2011 to 2014. In addition to their degree, Axel has obtained several certifications throughout their career. These certifications include being a Sustainable Real Estate member through the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) obtained in October 2022, a MAPM member of the Association of Project Management obtained in May 2021, and an MRICS Chartered Member of RICS obtained in July 2019. Axel also holds certifications as a Certified Bechtel Lead Cost Engineer, ICIOB Incorporate Member of the CIOB through The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) obtained in July 2014, a Certified Bechtel Lead Planner obtained in March 2013, and a Six Sigma Yellow Belt obtained in January 2004.
