Steve Jones has extensive work experience in the construction and infrastructure industry. Steve has held various roles in different companies throughout their career.

Starting in 1995, Steve worked as a Senior Project QS for Gammon Paul Y JV in Hong Kong, where they managed commercial aspects of a large-scale construction project.

In 1998, they joined Mainbrace Constructions (NSW) Pty Ltd as a Contracts Manager, responsible for overseeing contracts and project management.

Steve then joined Carillion in 2000 as a Commercial Manager, before moving to Amey in 2001. At Amey, they served as a Commercial Manager, focusing on risk and opportunity management, as well as a Programme Manager for a restructuring and cost reduction program.

In 2004, Steve joined Skanska and took on various leadership roles. Steve served as an Associate Commercial Director, responsible for commercial management and procurement within the Skanska Central Nottinghamshire JV. Steve was also involved in other projects, including the Gas Distribution Strategic Partnership and the Dwr Cymru Welsh Water AMP6 Programme.

During their time at Skanska, Steve held positions such as Commercial Director for the Eight20/SMBJV Thames Water project and the SCS Railways High Speed 2 Main Works project. Steve also served as a Programme Commercial Director for the High-Speed 2 Area South Enabling Works project.

In 2019, Steve joined CPB Contractors as a Commercial Director for the Systems Connect JV, overseeing the Sydney Metro Linewide Contract.

From 2020 to 2023, Steve worked at Balfour Beatty VINCI as the Section Commercial Lead for the Mainline South project on the HS2 MWCC North.

Currently, Steve is working at MTR Corporation Limited as the Principal Projects Commercial Manager/Commercial Lead for the New Territories Portfolio.

Throughout their career, Steve has been accountable for commercial, procurement, finance, change management, and risk management aspects of various projects, ranging from railway infrastructure to water management and airport developments.

Steve Jones FCInstCES MAPM MIGEM has a comprehensive education history in the fields of construction, real estate, project management, and quantity surveying. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Reading, with a specialization in Construction & Real Estate. Additionally, they have obtained a RICS Diploma in Project Management from the same university. Steve also possesses a BSc Hons degree in Quantity Surveying from Birmingham City University.

In terms of certifications, Steve is a member of the Association of Project Managers (MAPM) and the Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM).
