Jennifer Donovan has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. Jennifer began their career as a Staff Writer for Reader's Digest in 1972 and later worked as a Staff Writer for the Dallas Times Herald and the San Francisco Chronicle. In 1989, they joined the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas as a Senior Science Writer. After seven years, they moved on to become a Science Writer at the University of Maryland at Baltimore. In 1998, they joined the Howard Hughes Medical Institute as a Science Education Editor, where they stayed until 2007. Finally, they became the Director of News & Media Relations at Michigan Technological University, where they are currently employed.

Jennifer Donovan attended Stanford University from 1983 to 1984, focusing on Journalism. Jennifer further pursued their education at the University of Central Florida from 1968 to 1972, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Communications.
