Mahesh Nattanmai

Mahesh Nattanmai is the current President at MTX. Prior to this, they served as the Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer at NYS Office of Information Technology Services from January 2014 to May 2017. In this role, they were responsible for leading the transformation of one of the largest and complex IT operations to an enterprise shared service delivery model. The transformed model, built on the strengths of the 4000+ IT experts, established a standardized IT service catalog and positioned the State to embrace innovation.

Before their role as Executive Deputy Chief Information Officer, Mr. Nattanmai served as the Chief Portfolio Officer at NYS Office of Information Technology Services from June 2012 to November 2012. In this role, they were responsible for leading one of the largest public sector IT consolidations in U.S. The consolidation involved merging IT operations of over 52+ business entities (agencies) into a single NYS IT service organization and transferring 3000+ IT professionals and their payroll into Office of Information Technology Services.

Further, as a first step towards gaining a strategic view of business objectives and channelling the investments to achieve the desired business goals, they proposed and socialized a statewide IT Governance and portfolio management process. With the strong executive sponsorship and commitment from the agency commissioners and business leaders, NYS started the journey towards portfolio rationalization and had an established investment governance process.

Mahesh also led the initiative to implement a Strategic Project Portfolio Management framework for NYS, to ensure the strategic projects are given the direction and resources they need to deliver business impact.

Mahesh Nattanmai has a MIS from The College of Saint Rose in Computer Science and a B.S from Madurai Kamaraj University in Computer Science. Mahesh is certified from the Project Management Institute in Project Management Professional (PMP).
