David Pires

David Pires is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the mining and industrial sectors. Currently serving as Senior Vice President at Mubadala since January 2019, David specializes in investment business development, portfolio management, and asset value optimization, while also facilitating communication between the front-line and the Board of Directors. Prior to this role, David held various positions at RPMGlobal, including Vice President for Industrials and Business Services and Regional General Manager for Latin America, where responsibilities included leading multi-million-dollar projects and overseeing a diverse team in business development and advisory services. David's career began at Rio Tinto, progressing from Production Engineer to Operations Manager, and has included roles at HWE Mining Pty Limited, Sons of Gwalia, and KCGM. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Mining Engineering from the Western Australian School of Mines and a Certificate in Mastering Board Governance from IMD, alongside other executive management training from Harvard and Yale.
