Niels de Rooij

Niels de Rooij is an Energiespecialist at MUG Ingenieursbureau since April 2021, focusing on environmental management for energy projects, specifically in cable routes, which includes obtaining and managing permits and facilitating collaboration among stakeholders. Previously, Niels held the position of Projectingenieur Energie at the same company, working on various energy projects such as cable route studies and feasibility studies for heating networks and solar projects. Prior experience includes serving as Initiatiefbegeleider at Groninger Energiekoepel, assisting sustainable initiatives in multiple municipalities, as well as working as a Buurtprocesbegeleider at Buurkracht, promoting energy-saving measures in communities. Niels also completed an internship at Antea Group focusing on renewable energy initiatives and participated in projects during an internship at KAW architecten. Niels holds a Bachelor of Science in Technische Planologie from the University of Groningen and a VWO diploma from Kamerlingh Onnes.
