Ali Abbas

Ali Abbas has a diverse work experience in the field of GIS. Ali started their career as an intern at SUI SOUTHERN GAS COMPANY, where they worked on developing a gas pipeline network using satellite imagery. Ali then joined TPL Trakker Ltd. as a GIS Data Analyst, where they implemented web mapping applications and developed project-specific GIS applications. After that, they worked at The Urban Unit as a GIS Research Associate, where they coordinated and analyzed satellite imagery and supported in digitization and updating of GIS datasets. Currently, Ali Abbas is working at Multinet Pakistan (Private) Limited as the Head of GIS, where they are responsible for the design and deployment of enterprise GIS to support organizational goals and manages nationwide infrastructure projects.

Ali Abbas has a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Geography from Karachi University, which they obtained from 2009 to 2012. Ali also has a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Geography from the same university, earned from 2012 to 2013. In addition, Ali has a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Science from Karachi University, completed in 2014-2015. Ali further pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Geographic Information Science and Remote Sensing from Karachi University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Ali has also completed several certifications in GIS and related subjects from various institutions such as AIMS, Geographical Information Technologies, Esri, and Institute of Space Technology (IST).
