Ava Battles is an experienced leader in the non-profit sector, currently serving as Chief Executive of Multiple Sclerosis Ireland since October 2011, where responsibilities include implementing the Society's Strategic Plan and ensuring the quality and economic viability of services. Previously, as Chief Executive Officer at the Carmichael Centre for Voluntary Groups from June 2007 to September 2011, Ava successfully led the development of strategies to meet client needs and secured funding to enhance services. Prior roles include Director of Services at Epilepsy Ireland, overseeing nationwide support services, and National Training & Research Manager for the ISPCC, where management of the National Research Department was a key responsibility. Ava holds a Master's in Management in the Community and Voluntary Sector from All Hallows College, a Master in Health Psychology from University of Galway, and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from University of Galway.

MS Ireland is the only national organisation providing information, support and advocacy services to people with MS, their families, carers, health professionals and others interested in MS. We are a membership based organisation and work in every county in Ireland. Both staff and volunteers work together to address the needs of people affected by MS, a progressive neurological condition. Over 9,000 people and families live with MS in Ireland.
