Mummy's Star
Mummy's Star is the only charity in the UK and Ireland providing support to mums and birthing parents affected by #cancer in or around their #pregnancy. We offer one-to-one emotional support, practical advice, advocacy and small grants to families where the: • Woman/birthing parent is diagnosed or treated for cancer in pregnancy. • Woman/birthing parent is diagnosed or treated for cancer within a year of giving birth. • Family who, in the year following a birth, lose their female/birthing partner as a result of cancer. We also facilitate peer support via private online forums and collaborate with a number of other cancer charities and support services to meet our families' unique needs. We also provide the only bespoke training on Cancer and Pregnancy for midwives, healthcare professionals and trainees. Sessions can be in-person or virtual and include academic and anecdotal content to bring to life the realities of a pregnancy, birth, and post-natal period impacted by a cancer diagnosis. We want all healthcare professionals to receive this training to better understand and are for mums and parents who go through this frightening and confusing experience. Find out more at our website.
