Lisa Martin

Executive Director, Founder at MUN Impact

Lisa Martin has a diverse and extensive work experience. Lisa started their career as an educator at Mont' Kiara International School, where they developed the school's social studies department and founded the Model United Nations program. Lisa also helped establish various service-oriented projects for high school students. Lisa then worked as an educator at Charter School of San Diego and iCademy-International School, where they were involved in innovative online teaching methods and virtual Model United Nations programs. Lisa later served as a 7th Grade Core Teacher at Sheikh Zayed Private Academy for Girls and Middle School Teacher at the American Community School in Amman. Lisa then took on the role of Head of THIMUN Qatar, overseeing the largest Model United Nations program in the Middle East and organizing leadership conferences and film festivals. Lisa also played a significant role in developing an Arabic MUN program and implementing innovative projects. Lisa was also the Director of Lower School at Mount Madonna School and Executive Director/Founder of MUN Impact, an initiative to address issues within the Model UN community and promote the Sustainable Development Goals. Currently, they hold the position of Education Coordinator at the Defense Resources Management Institute.

Lisa Martin began their education at the University of California, Berkeley in 1985 and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science in 1987. In 1988, they attended San Jose State University to pursue a Secondary Education-Credential degree in Education-Social Science, which they completed in 1989. In 2008, Lisa Martin enrolled at UC San Diego and earned a Certificate in Sustainable Business Practices. Additionally, they have obtained various certifications, such as THIMUN Qatar certification in March 2018, Qatar Leadership Conference certification in October 2016, and QLC certification in October 2015.
