Anke Misbaer started their work experience in 2014 with internships at the KU Leuven laboratories for Experimental Functional Neurosurgery and Organ Systems - Development and Regeneration. In these roles, they gained experience in investigating the therapeutic potential of electrical stimulation in the brain lesion cavity and characterizing mechanosensitive ion channels in the endometrium. Anke also conducted research on the mechanism of Neurofibromatosis type 1-associated pseudarthrosis.
In 2014, they completed their Master's thesis at the KU Leuven Center of human genetics, Laboratory for Neurofibromatosis research.
From 2015 to 2021, Anke worked at VIB as a Lab Technician, where they focused on biochemistry, molecular biology, and single-cell and spatial transcriptomics. Anke collaborated with Muna Therapeutics during their time at VIB.
In 2022, Anke joined Muna Therapeutics as a Senior Research Associate, where they continue to expand their expertise in research and development.
Anke Misbaer's education history begins in 2004 when they attended ZAVO in Zaventem for their first and second grade of secondary education, focusing on Latin and Mathematics. Anke completed their third grade of secondary education, specializing in Science and Mathematics, at ZAVO in 2010. Anke then pursued their higher education at KU Leuven, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from 2010 to 2013. Anke furthered their studies at KU Leuven, earning a Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, Anke obtained a Laboratory Animal Science (Category B) Certificate from KU Leuven, although the duration of this certification is not specified.
