Alex Mertekis has a strong background in art direction and design. They worked as an Art Director for Footballco starting in 2022. Prior to that, Alex worked for MUNDIAL Studio as an Art Director, overseeing the brand's aesthetic output, including magazine design, event branding, and digital output. They also worked as a Freelance Art Director for The Grassroots Post from 2020 to 2022. Earlier in their career, Alex worked as an Art Editor for Hearst UK, where they handled various design and art direction projects for luxury promotions. They also worked as a Designer for Esquire magazine, focusing on the design and production of a weekly, iPad exclusive edition. Additionally, Alex has experience in digital design, having worked as a Freelance Designer and Digital Design Intern for Conde Nast, as well as a Tablet Design Intern for T3 Magazine at Future Publishing.
Alex Mertekis earned a Foundation degree in Art/Art Studies, General from Bradford College in 2008. Following this, they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Graphic Design at The University of Salford from 2008 to 2011. Finally, they completed a Master's degree in Communication Design at The University of Salford from 2011 to 2012.
