Derick Hope is an Assistant Lecturer and Medical Microbiologist at Muni University since April 2021. Previously, they worked as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at MSF Epicentre, Mbarara Research Base from September 2015 to March 2021. Derick gained extensive experience in molecular biology, mycobacteriology, general microbiology, and other areas through clinical trials and research projects on tuberculosis, vaccines, and HIV. They have a Master of Science (MSc) in Medical Microbiology and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Mbarara University of Science & Technology. Key responsibilities include quality assurance, research project implementation, equipment maintenance, and coordinating students' training and research activities.
