Thomas Blunck

Thomas Blunck has served at Munich Re since February 1999, currently holding the position of CEO of the Reinsurance Group since January 2023, overseeing areas such as Data and Analytics, Internet of Things, Corporate Underwriting, Claims, Accounting, and Information Technology. Thomas has held various leadership roles within the company, including overseeing Global Life and Health, Digital Partners, and Reinsurance Investments. Prior to Munich Re, Thomas was the Head of Central Corporate Development and Strategic Planning at BSH Home Appliances Group from January 1996 to January 1999. Thomas's academic background includes a Doctorate in Business Administration from Université de Fribourg and studies in Innovation Management at Stanford University.
