Ernesto Lanza

Ernesto Lanza's work experience begins with their current role as the Chief Regulatory and Policy Officer at the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board since 2023. In this position, they lead the Market Regulation team and is responsible for municipal broker-dealer and municipal advisor rulemaking, regulatory coordination, and professional qualification standards for municipal market professionals. Ernesto also provides strategic insight and counsel to the CEO and Board on regulatory policy and municipal market matters. Additionally, they worked as Senior Counsel at Clark Hill PLC in the Banking & Financial Services department and as Shareholder at Greenberg Traurig, LLP in the Public Finance/Financial Regulatory & Compliance practice.

Ernesto Lanza attended Harvard University from 1981 to 1985, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government. Following their undergraduate studies, they enrolled in the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School from 1985 to 1988, earning a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Additionally, Ernesto Lanza participated in the Executive Program at Harvard Kennedy School, specializing in the Strategic Management of Regulatory and Enforcement Agencies.
