School Town of Munster
Phyllis Gilworth, Ph.D., serves as Assistant Superintendent and Director of Instructional Programs and Assessment for the School Town of Munster since 2013. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant Principal and Director of Guidance at Munster High School from 2007 to 2013, Assistant Principal at School City of Hammond from 2004 to 2007, and School Counselor at Michigan City Area Schools from 1995 to 2004. Dr. Gilworth holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Administrative Leadership from Capella University, an Administrative Certification from Indiana University South Bend, and a Master’s degree in Counselor Education from the same institution, along with a Bachelor of Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.

Comprised of one high school, one middle school (grades 6-8) and three elementary schools (grades K-5), the School Town of Munster enrollment is 4100 students. STM is one of the original ten school corporations in the state of Indiana to receive District Accreditation from AdvancED. Our school district is proud of its nationally recognized academic programs and teams.
