Gerardo Luis Dimaguila Faidh

Gerardo Luis Dimaguila FAIDH has a diverse work experience in the field of health informatics and education. Gerardo Luis currently serves as the Health Informatics Team Lead at the Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI), where they lead a team providing infrastructure and information solutions for Victoria's vaccine safety service. Gerardo Luis also conducts child health research within the Health Informatics Group at the Centre for Health Analytics.

Previously, Gerardo worked as a Health Informatics Officer at MCRI, where they streamlined communication of vaccine events data and contributed to the design and implementation of platforms for improved reporting and trending of patient data. Gerardo Luis has also served as a Research Assistant at the University of Melbourne, supporting a project on AI education in the health workforce.

In addition to their research and leadership roles, Gerardo has been involved in teaching and education. Gerardo Luis has served as a Sessional Lecturer at the University of Melbourne, teaching a graduate course on health informatics methods. Gerardo Luis has also worked as an Adult Educator at the University of Melbourne and Ateneo de Zamboanga University, teaching subjects related to software engineering, nursing informatics, and programming.

Earlier in their career, Gerardo worked on national projects in the Philippines, including developing the first database of child neurologic diseases and supporting a US$60 million development project funded by USAID.

Gerardo Luis Dimaguila FAIDH has a strong educational background in the field of digital health. Gerardo Luis received their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science from Ateneo de Zamboanga University in 2010. Gerardo Luis then pursued further studies and completed a Master's degree in Information Technology (Digital Health) from the University of Melbourne in 2015. In 2016, they continued their education at the University of Melbourne and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Digital Health in 2020. Gerardo Luis is currently a Candidate Fellow at the Australasian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH) since 2018.

In addition to their formal education, Gerardo has supplemented their knowledge and skills with various certifications. Gerardo Luis obtained certifications in Power BI Architecture, AIDH Fellow (FAIDH), and AIDH 5+ Year Member from the Australasian Institute of Digital Health. Gerardo Luis also holds certifications in Getting Started with Power BI Desktop and Julia Scientific Programming (with Honors) from Coursera Course Certificates.
