Treena Burgess is an accomplished academic and leader with extensive experience at Murdoch University since January 2001, where roles include Executive Director of the Harry Butler Institute, Professor, Research Director, and interim Dean of Research for the College of Science, Health, Engineering, and Education. Treena also currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for The Wetlands Centre Cockburn and is the President of The Royal Society of Western Australia. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Biology, with a focus on Forest Pathology and Mycology from Murdoch University, and a Bachelor of Agricultural Science from the University of Tasmania. Treena further enhanced leadership skills through the Company Directors Course at the Australian Institute of Company Directors in 2020.
