Sophie Knott

Sophie Knott, PhD, is a Part-Qualified Patent Attorney and Trainee Patent Attorney at Murgitroyd since August 2022, with extensive experience in both academic and business environments. Current involvement with The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys includes roles as Welfare Officer and Regional Secretary within CIPA Informals. Prior roles encompass a Protein Biochemist in R&D at Touchlight, where Sophie contributed to protein design and characterization, and Business Development Associate at Motilent, focusing on market expansion in US healthcare. Previous experience includes an IP Law Internship at Agile IP LLP and leadership as the Head of London Division at Science Innovation Union, specializing in life science networking. Education includes a PhD from UCL/Birkbeck Institute of Structural and Molecular Biology and a Biochemistry BSc from Queen Mary University of London, alongside a Postgraduate Certificate in Intellectual Property Law from Brunel University of London.
