Wael Al-Lawati

Wael Al-Lawati has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Wael is currently serving as the Chief Executive Officer at MURIYA since January 2023. Prior to that, from February 2021 to December 2022, they worked as the COO and Partner at a real estate company. Wael also held the position of Senior VP International Business Development at DAMAC Properties from March 2017 to August 2020. From December 2015 to February 2017, they worked as the Regional Business Development Director at Majid Al Futtaim Properties. Before that, they served as the CEO of Omran Group OM from December 2007 to May 2015. Wael also held the role of Deputy CEO at Al Mouj Muscat from December 2003 to December 2007. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Change Advisor at PDO from November 2002 to December 2003. Wael began their professional journey at Petroleum Development Oman in 1993, where they held various roles until 2003.

Wael Al-Lawati has a diverse education history. In 1990, they attended the University of Sussex and earned their Bachelor of Engineering degree in 1993. In 2000 to 2001, they pursued executive education at IMD, specializing in Building on Talent. In 2002, Wael attended Harvard Business School for executive education in the field of Executive Education. In 2007, they obtained a certificate in Real Estate, Hotel Design & Development from Cornell University. Lastly, in 2014, they completed an executive education program in M&A & Corporate Strategy at INSEAD.
