Roanna Dawson

Roanna Dawson has a diverse work experience in strategic communication and media roles. Roanna most recently served as the Director of Media at the Murray-Darling Basin Authority. Prior to that, they held the position of Director Strategic Communication and Regional Delivery at the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications from 2020 to 2023. Before that, they worked as the Director Strategic Communication at the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities from 2019 to 2020. Roanna also gained experience as the Director of Public Affairs and Communication at the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority from 2017 to 2019. Additionally, they held various roles at the Australian Government Department of Agriculture and Water Resources, including Assistant Director, Media and Social Media, and Assistant Director, Biosecurity Legislation Communication. In 2012, they worked as the Acting Director of Public Affairs at the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority. Roanna Dawson completed a Bachelor's Degree in Communication, majoring in Advertising and Marketing with a focus on Laws, at the University of Canberra from 2002 to 2004. Later, they pursued a Graduate Certificate in Social Media and Public Engagement from the same university for the academic year 2016 to 2017.
