Celia Yang Nelson

Director Of Principal Gifts at MUSEUM ASSOCIATES

Celia Yang Nelson has a diverse work experience, with their most recent position being as the Principal Gift Officer (Campaign) at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) starting in November 2021. Prior to this role, they held various positions at LACMA, including Head of Director's Strategic Initiatives, Major Gift Officer, Manager of Collection Development, Exhibition Support and Artist Initiatives, and Individual Giving Coordinator. Celia also worked as an Administrative Assistant at LACMA from July 2013 to March 2014.

Before joining LACMA, Celia worked as a Regional Assistant at Christie's International Real Estate from August 2012 to June 2014. Celia also gained experience in the art industry as a Gallery Intern at Gagosian Gallery from August 2012 to April 2013, and as a Development Intern at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art from August 2012 to December 2012.

Celia's earlier work experience includes being a Student Assistant at John Cabot University from August 2010 to May 2012, and working as a Fine Arts Assistant at The British School at Rome from 2011 to 2012. Celia also interned at Christie's in May 2011, and worked as a Secretarial Management at Mandarette Cafe from September 2006 to May 2010.

Celia Yang Nelson completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biological Sciences and Communication Design at the University of Southern California from 2006 to 2009. From 2010 to 2012, they attended John Cabot University, where they earned their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art History. Celia then pursued further education at Arizona State University from 2018 to 2021, where they completed a Fellowship and Master's degree in partnership with LACMA, specializing in Art History.
