Maria Isabel Ramos

Maria Isabel Ramos, Ph.D has a diverse work experience in the field of education and art. Maria Isabel started their career in 2013 as a Visiting Lecturer at the Zacatecas State School of Conservation and Restoration. In 2015, they joined the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as an Education Coordinator and later transitioned to the role of Museum Educator. In 2020, they became the Manager of School and Education Community Programs at LACMA.

In 2016, Maria worked as a Teaching Artist at artworxLA (formerly The HeArt Project), where they utilized their artistic skills to engage students in creative learning. Maria Isabel also gained teaching experience as a Professor of Art History at FIDM/Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising from 2015 to 2016.

Additionally, Maria had the opportunity to be a Museum Educator at the Armand Hammer Art Museum and Cultural Center from September to December 2017.

Maria Isabel Ramos, Ph.D, received their Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History, focusing on Pre-Columbian art of Mesoamerica, from California State University-Los Angeles in 2006. Maria Isabel then pursued their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Art history, Theory, and Criticism from the University of California, San Diego, which they completed in 2012.
