Susie Ferrell

Associate Curator Of Chinese Art at MUSEUM ASSOCIATES

Susie Ferrell has a diverse work experience in the field of art and curatorial work. Susie started their career as an intern at the Asian Art Department of the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Center for Visual Arts in 2012, where they were involved in planning exhibitions and conducting research. Later, they worked as a video production intern at FemTechNet, where they filmed and edited videos on feminism and technology. Susie also interned at The Williamson Gallery, Scripps College, as a conservation intern, where they conserved sculptures and wrote conservation reports. Subsequently, they interned at The Metropolitan Museum of Art as a digital media intern, and at Ink Studio, where they transcribed interviews, composed bibliographies, and produced video trailers on Chinese contemporary ink painting. In 2016, they joined the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) as an intern in the Chinese and Korean Art Department and worked their way up to the role of Associate Curator of Chinese Art. Currently, they are also a member of the Board of Directors at The Li Huasheng Art Foundation.

Susie Ferrell completed their Bachelor of Humanities and Arts (B.H.A.) degree in Art History and Fine Art at Carnegie Mellon University in 2011-2012. Susie then pursued their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Art History and Fine Art at Scripps College from 2012 to 2015. Susie Ferrell furthered their education by obtaining a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Art History from The Courtauld Institute in 2015-2016.
