Paul McLachlan is the Advisor at Museum of AI. Paul was previously the AI Research Leader at Ericsson Research Silicon Valley from October 2018 to June 2021. Prior to that, they were with Red Hat.

At Ericsson Research, Paul was responsible for the overall technical strategy, resource planning, and team management related to security and machine learning in spatial perception as well as augmented and virtual reality. Paul also led a team of eight machine learning researchers and developers. In their first year at Ericsson Research, they were the top most prolific inventor among Ericsson's 25,000 R&D staff and received an Ericsson Impact Award.

Paul has also been Principal Investigator for a multi-year research collaboration with MIT related to neurotrophic computing and lithhionics. Paul has authored multiple papers for top machine learning conferences and holds nearly 40 patents with a focus on machine learning, perception and computer vision, robotics, and data architecture.

Paul McLachlan has a PhD in Computational Social Science from UC San Diego, a Master's in Mathematics and Game Theory from the University of Maryland, and a Master's from The George Washington University. Paul also has a Bachelor's from Columbia University in the City of New York. Paul has certifications from Duke University in Empirical Implications of Theoretical Models, University of California San Diego in Human Subjects Research, and Harvard University in Human Subjects Research.
