Jamie Metzger

Curator Mātauranga Māori at Te Papa

Jamie Metzger is an experienced professional in the museum sector, currently serving as a Trust Board Member for the National Army Museum Te Mata Toa since May 2024 and leading the Ngākahu Kaiārahi Domestic Repatriation Project at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa since August 2021. Previously, Jamie Metzger has held multiple roles at the Otago Museum, including Assistant Curator and Collection Officer, overseeing various tasks related to the care and management of museum collections from November 2013 to March 2021. Education includes a PhD in Geography from the University of Otago (2018-2022), a Postgraduate Diploma in Museum Studies from Massey University (2013-2016), and a Master’s Degree in Design for Technology from the University of Otago (2012-2013), among others. Jamie Metzger's expertise encompasses collection management, exhibition installation, and scholarly research within the museum field.
