Kate Camp has a diverse work experience in the field of communications and marketing. Kate started their career as a Writer in Residence at the University of Waikato in 2002 and later worked as a Freelance Communications Worker. Kate then joined the Department of Labour as a Senior Communications Advisor and was also seconded as a communications advisor to the Department's change team. Kate further enhanced their skills by working as a Communications Manager at the Commerce Commission and later as the Director of Communications at the Ministry of Economic Development. Kate also worked at Creative New Zealand, where they held the position of Berlin Writers Residency. In 2011, Kate joined PHARMAC as a Principal Adviser in Public Affairs. Kate took up the role of Corporate Communications Manager at the MFAT Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade in 2013, followed by joining the Arts Foundation of New Zealand as the Katherine Mansfield Menton Fellow in 2017. Finally, they worked at the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa, starting as the Communications Manager and currently serving as the Head of Marketing and Communications.
Kate Camp completed a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in English Literature from Victoria University of Wellington. Kate attended the university from 1993 to 1996 and achieved a first-class distinction.
