Scott Stephenson

Scott Stephenson has extensive experience in the field of history and museums. Scott began their career as an Independent Curator and Historical Consultant at Early American Images from 1995 to 2007. From 2002 to 2007, Scott worked as a Curator at the Senator John Heinz History Center. In 2007, they became the Founding Director of Collections and Interpretation at the American Revolution Center at Valley Forge. Scott then transitioned to the Museum of the American Revolution, where they held the position of Vice President of Collections, Exhibitions, and Programming from 2016 to 2018. Currently, Scott serves as the President & CEO of the Museum of the American Revolution.

Scott Stephenson has a comprehensive education history. Scott pursued their Bachelor of Arts degree in History and International Studies from Juniata College between 1983 and 1987. During this period, they also studied History at the University of Leeds in 1985 and 1986. After completing their undergraduate studies, Scott went on to pursue a Master of Arts degree in American History at the University of Virginia from 1988 to 1990. Scott continued their studies at the same university and obtained a Ph.D. in American History, Early Modern Britain, and Historical Archaeology, which spanned from 1988 to 1998. In 2013, Scott Stephenson attended the Seminar for Historical Administration, a program where they gained valuable knowledge and expertise, although no specific degree or field of study is mentioned. In 2018, Scott completed the Leadership Development Program at the Center for Creative Leadership in Colorado Springs, CO., which focused on Organizational Leadership.
