Lynley Crosswell has a diverse work experience, with notable positions in the museum and media industry. From 2012 to 2017, they served as the Chief Executive Officer of ABC International, overseeing the corporation's international media services. Prior to that, they held the role of Director at ABC Commercial, where they managed various business units. In 2017, they became a Steering Committee Member for the World Heritage Steering Committee for the Royal Exhibition Building and Carlton Gardens. In 2018, they served as a Member of the Board of Advisors for the Australia Research Council and as a Strategic Advisor for Tech Mahindra Corporation. Currently, they hold the positions of Chair for the Australasian Council of Museum Directors and Non-Executive Director for The Sovereign Hill Museums Association. Additionally, they have previous experience as a Non-Executive Board Member for Fisher and Paykel and a Non-Executive Director for the Melbourne International Jazz Festival.

Lynley Crosswell attended Harvard Business School Executive Education in 2011, where they focused on "Building New Business in Established Organisations". Prior to that, they studied for a Master of Business Administration (Executive) at The University of Auckland from 1994 to 1995.
