Byron J. Mayes is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in finance, education, and the performing arts. Currently serving as Finance and Database Manager and Welcome Concierge at Music Academy, Byron previously held the position of Technology Teacher at Beatrice Mayes Institute Charter School. Additional roles include Chorus member at Houston Grand Opera and Residential Assistant at UCSB Housing, Dining & Auxiliary Enterprises. Byron has also worked as a Graduate Teacher Assistant in Voice at UC Santa Barbara, instructing non-music majors. The artistic background includes contributions as a Chorister and Chrisman Studio Artist for Opera Santa Barbara and a Choir Member at All Saints-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. Byron holds a Doctor of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from UC Santa Barbara, as well as a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Columbus State University.

Music Academy is a performance-based training center and incubator that empowers musicians to positively impact society.
