Executive Director, President at Music City PrEP Clinic

Richard MacKinnon has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Richard is currently the Executive Director, President, Chair, and Co-founder of Music City PrEP Clinic since August 2017. Prior to that, they founded BorgFest in 2013, a pride festival for cyborgs and expo for human augmentation.

From 2008 to 2018, Richard was a Member and Past Chair of the Customer Satisfaction Advisory Committee at Capital Metro. Richard was the CEO of Less Networks from 2003 to 2017, a company that specialized in WiFi, social networking, and mobile advertising.

Richard also served as Chair of the Downtown Commission and Chair of the Urban Transportation Commission for the City of Austin, where they oversaw the management of infrastructural impacts on the central business district. Richard was also the President of the Austin Wireless City Project, a nonprofit focused on improving the availability of free WiFi in Austin.

In addition, Richard was the CEO of Mifft from 2011 to 2014, a mobile feedback service. Richard worked as a consultant for Arts Electronica from 1997 to 2013 and served as Chief Strategist, VP Marketing, and VP Business Development at Rocksteady Networks from 2000 to 2003. Richard was a Marketing Product Manager at Deja.com from 1999 to 2000 and held the role of Product Manager/Consultant for Internet Services at IXC/Broadwing from 1997 to 1998.

Richard MacKinnon completed their education with a Phd Program in Political Theory / Advanced Communications from The University of Texas at Austin, from 1992 to 1998. Prior to that, they attained an M.A. in Political Science from San Jose State University between 1989 and 1992, and a B.A. in Political Science from the same institution from 1986 to 1989.
