Library Media Director at Mustang Public Schools

Kristi Starr has a diverse work experience in the education field. Kristi started their career in 1994 as a Teacher at Pflugerville ISD, where they worked until 2000. Kristi then moved on to Lubbock ISD in 2011, where they served as a Library Media Specialist until 2023. In 2016, they joined the University of North Texas as an Adjunct Professor. Currently, they are working as a Library Media Director at Mustang Public Schools.

Kristi Starr completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in German Language and Literature and English Language and Literature at The University of Texas at Austin in 1993. Kristi then pursued a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree with a focus on School Librarian/School Library Media Specialist at the University of North Texas from 2008 to 2010.

In addition to their formal education, Kristi Starr has obtained various certifications. Kristi became a Genially Ambassador through Genially in August 2023 and a Wakelet Certified Trainer through Wakelet in June 2023. Kristi also holds certifications as a Google for Education Certified Trainer (January 2021), Google Certified Educator Level 2 (March 2018), and Google Certified Educator Level 1 (January 2018). Furthermore, they obtained certifications from the Texas Education Agency, including Generalist (EC-6) in March 2011, School Librarian in May 2010, Secondary English in December 1993, and Secondary German in December 1993.
