Chelsea Melé

Chelsea Melé has a diverse work experience spanning multiple fashion companies. In their current role as Design Director at MV Sport® | The Game®, they oversee the design process. Prior to this, they held the position of Senior Product Development Manager at the same company, where they managed the development of new products. Chelsea also served as a Designer at MV Sport® | The Game®, contributing to the design team.

Before joining MV Sport®, Chelsea worked as a Freelance Designer at Weatherproof Garment Company, where they designed loungewear and sleepwear collections. Chelsea conducted market research, developed garment sketches and tech packs, and merchandised concepts, fabrics, and color stories.

At Takeout Sweaters, Chelsea worked as a Designer, creating private label and branded contemporary women's knitwear, cut & sew, and wovens for major department stores. Chelsea collaborated with overseas and domestic factories, developed yarn, stitches, and layouts, and created seasonal color directions.

Before that, they served as an Associate Designer at Beth Bowley, assisting in the development of seasonal strategies and managing the creative and technical aspects of product development. Additionally, they worked as a Freelance Technical Designer at 32 Degrees, where they created detailed garment CADs and produced technical packages.

Chelsea's early career includes roles as an Assistant Designer at Debra DeRoo and an intern at Larsen Associates Inc. These experiences provided their with a solid foundation in the fashion industry.

Chelsea Melé attended the Fashion Institute of Technology from 2004 to 2006, where they obtained an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in Fashion Design with a focus on Sportswear. Chelsea then continued their education at the same institution from 2006 to 2008, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Fashion Design with a specialization in Knitwear.
