Mike Newman

Mike Newman is currently the Warehouse Manager at MV Sports & Leisure. Prior to this, they were the Training and Development Manager at Center Parcs from October 1998 to January 2007. In this role, they were responsible for all training and development activities for 1500 employees across departments such as Food and Beverage, Leisure, Retail, Housekeeping, Estates Management, Finance, and HR. Mike also designed and delivered Management Development programs across all UK sites.

From June 2007 to February 2015, Mike Newman was the Training Manager at Aspire Defence Services Limited. In this role, they were responsible for designing and delivering the L & D strategy to support the business Purpose, Vision and Values. Mike also developed a Performance Management System that delivered consistent business results, designed and delivered a Competency Framework that focused behaviours and enhanced succession planning, and delivered and followed though on Employee Surveys that improved engagement. Additionally, they managed complex and conflicting L & D requirements within a matrix operation, built a sustainable supply chain with improved value for bought-in training activities, ensured 100% compliance on all statutory and contractual training issues, investigated new technologies and methodologies that reduce time to competence, and had full budget accountability.

Mike Newman has a HCIMA from Greater Brighton Metropolitan College, an OND in Hotel and Catering Operations from Basingstoke College, and certifications from APMG-International in APMG Change Management Practitioner and PRINCE2 Practitioner. Mike also has certifications from Belbin Team Roles (UK - Head Office) in Belbin Interplace, Margerison - McCann in Team Management Systems, and Margerison - McCann in Team Performance Profile. Additionally, they are certified by The British Psychological Society in Level A and B. Finally, they have a CIPD certification in CIPD Associate Member.
