Tom Standring

Tom is a Structural Engineer with a Civil Engineering degree. He has over 35 years design and delivery experience working both as a consultant and contractor across various sectors including, nuclear, oil and gas and the water sector.

Tom has strategic responsibility for MWH Treatment’s 250 multi-disciplined engineering resources. In addition to Engineering, Tom has responsibility for the company’s central Marketing, Sales and Proposals functions.

Tom joined the company in 1997. His early experience includes the programme management of Scottish Water’s first partnered Coastal Towns and Coastal Communities programmes. In 2005 he returned to the company to head up its AMP 4 bid campaign. His subsequent leadership of the AMP 5 and AMP 6 campaigns resulted in a threefold growth of Treatment. Since 2014 Tom has led the growth of MWH Treatment’s Engineering from 65 to 250. In 2015 Tom reintroduced MWH Treatment’s graduate programme, which now has over 70 Engineering Graduates.
