Lead Cybersecurity Engineer at MxD

Sam Moyer has a diverse work experience in the field of cybersecurity. In 2010, they started their career as a Boundary Protection Specialist at the United States Air Force, where they worked until 2013. During this time, they also served as a Wing COMSEC Manager from 2013 to 2017 and as an Information System Security Officer from 2017 onwards. In 2021, Sam joined Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. as an Information System Security Officer - Lead, where they worked until mid-2022. Currently, they hold the position of Lead Cybersecurity Engineer at MxD since November 2022.

Sam Moyer completed their education in a chronological manner. Sam first attended Lutheran High School from 2000 to 2004, where they earned a High School degree with a field of study in General Studies. Following this, from 2010 to 2013, Sam enrolled in the Community College of the Air Force, obtaining an Associate's Degree in Military Information Systems Technology. Sam then pursued higher education at the University of Maryland Global Campus from 2013 to 2018, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity. During this same period, they completed a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Cybersecurity from the same institution. In 2019, Sam attended the U.S. Air Force Institute of Technology for a brief period, obtaining a Certificate in Cyber/Electronic Operations and Warfare. Additionally, they hold certifications such as the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), obtained from (ISC)² in September 2018, and the Security+ certification from CompTIA, although the specific dates of achievement for the latter are unknown.
