Katherine Basbaum Ms

Katherine Basbaum MS, RD is an accomplished nutrition professional with extensive experience in various roles within healthcare and education. Currently serving as a Food Data Curator at MyFitnessPal, Katherine focuses on nutrition data curation and supports product-related initiatives. At UVA Health, Katherine acts as the lead dietitian for patient meal nutrient analysis and menu development, while also working on nutrition clinical trials within the Clinical Research Unit and providing dietary education in the Heart and Vascular Center. Additional experience includes serving as a Nutrition Counseling Educator at the Federal Executive Institute, a Research Specialist at the University of Virginia Diet and Nutrition Lab, and various internship positions within notable culinary media outlets. Katherine holds multiple degrees in nutrition communication from The Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, along with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts from UC San Diego.
