Sophie D.

Sophie D. is currently a Research Assistant at The Hospital for Sick Children, focusing on investigating myelination deficits in mice with Down Syndrome, utilizing techniques such as electron microscopy and immunostaining. In addition to this role, Sophie serves as Secretary for the Human Biology Student Union, handling administrative tasks like organizing meetings and managing communications. Previous experience includes a Research Assistant position at Anderson Lab, where equipment operation and data collection were key responsibilities, and volunteer work at Myodetox. Furthermore, Sophie has experience as a Math and Science Tutor and Administrative Assistant at High Park Academy, as well as serving as a Youth Soccer Coach with Little Kickers Group. Sophie is pursuing an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Human Biology from the University of Toronto, expected to graduate in 2023.
