Richard Watson

Dr. Richard Watson is a physician and healthcare executive with an extensive track record in launching and growing successful healthcare business ventures. He is the founder and CEO of Emerge MedStaffing, a medical staffing company focusing on Emergency Departments, Urgent Cares and Occupational Medicine Physician staffing in Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland, and Washington, DC. After launching Emerge TeleMedStaffing and Emerge TeleMedicine in 2018, Dr. Watson joined Virtual Physicians Associates in its launch and partnerships with MyOwnDoctor, Black Telehealth, and Ilume Health.

Before founding Emerge MedStaffing, Dr. Watson worked as the Medical Director of Nike World Basketball League and ApolloMD Region 4, where he led the staffing of seven Chicago and northwest Indiana Emergency Departments.

Dr. Watson completed his medical doctorate at Howard University and his residency in emergency medicine at the University of Chicago, where he was the chief resident.
