Gero Michel

Gero Michel currently serves as the Chief Risk and Analytics Officer at Mythen, holding responsibility for leading risk governance, exposure management, and advanced analytics innovation, including AI-driven product development. Gero is also an Advisory Board Member at Global Shield against Climate Risks since January 2024. Previous roles include Global Head of Underwriting Decision Support at AIG and Group Chief Risk Officer for AIG Re, where Gero optimized capital strategies and developed insurance-linked securities. Gero has held senior positions at Aon, Chaucer Syndicates, and Montpelier Reinsurance Holdings, contributing to underwriting, risk analytics, and advisory roles in various capacities. Gero’s educational background includes a PhD and MSc in geology and geophysics from the University of Tübingen and a GMP from Harvard Business School.
